AWAKEN BY THE HOLY SPIRIT
He awakes me in the morning
Sometimes in the deepest sleep
As I listen for words he reveals to me
Surely they are a message given in poetry
These times of visitations is oh so sweet
It's my heart's desire for poems to complete
He sends the Holy Spirit to daily guide me
Eagerly I listen for words He will breathe
There's been times I didn't write them all down
More times I care to mention of lost poems now
I pray to be obedient in sharing this gift
For I truly treasure every word He gives
Words are meant to edify and lift up the body of Christ
I pray that His gift always abundantly supplies
Encouragement to a lost or lonely soul
Reassurance also that His word gives spiritual growth
Words are life if carefully spoken
If carelessly said a heart can be broken
So think first of the words you'll speak
Because words of love is what the world needs
